Financial Markets

Overview

The financial markets meet the capital needs of companies, private individuals and the state. The various actors can hedge risks, make payments or invest money via the financial markets. The financial markets can thus contribute to increasing prosperity and support the transformation of the economy. In order for them to fulfil their function, a clear financial market regulation is needed. The aim of regulation should be to ensure the stability of the banking system and the markets as a whole.

The German Council of Economic Experts is focussing on financial market and banking stability in Germany and Europe, as well as with issues related to green financial investments and their benefits for the transformation of the economy.
