The German Cabinet has decided today to propose the reappointment of Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm. The Federal Government will propose to Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier the reappointment of Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm to the German Council of Economic Experts for the term until 28 February 2027.
Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm was first appointed to the German Council of Economic Experts in April 2020, succeeding Prof. Dr. Isabel Schnabel. As her successor, Veronika Grimm was initially appointed for the term of office until 28 February 2022 and her reappointment was already pending. If a Council member retires, according to the Law a new Council member is appointed for the duration of the term of office of the retiring member.
Veronika Grimm is professor of economics for Economic Theory at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and member of the National Hydrogen Council of the Federal Government. Her research focuses on energy markets and energy market modelling as well as behavioral economics.
