Christian Breuer joined the scientific staff of the GCEE in July 2023 as senior economist for tax and fiscal policy. Previously, he was Editor-in-Chief of the journals Wirtschaftsdienst and Intereconomics at the zbw - Leibniz Information Centre for Economics and Junior Professor for European Economics at TU Chemnitz until 2020. Since 2022, he has been an honorary professor of finance at TU Chemnitz.
Between 2008 and 2016, he worked as a research assistant and as a subject specialist for taxes and government revenues at ifo Institute Munich. He previously studied economics in Greifswald, Halle, New Delhi and Paris. He completed his dissertation at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2013. His research focuses on applied macroeconomics, especially tax and fiscal policy.
