Leonard Salzmann has been an economist on the scientific staff at the GCEE since April 2021 and a senior economist since January 2023. Since April 2022, he has been leading and coordinating the economic forecast and is primarily responsible for the forecast for the German economy. He previously studied economics at the University of Mannheim, the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He received his doctorate from the Institute for Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Kiel. In his research, Mr. Salzmann examines the international networking of business cycles, determinants of inflation and the identification of structural time series models.
