Lenard Simon joined the scientific staff of the GCEE as economist for labor markets and social policy in August 2023. Prior to that, he earned his doctorate in labor economics from the University of Bonn and the Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. During his doctoral studies, he investigated the causes of labor scarcity and analyzed the impact of various policy measures on the labor market participation of women and refugees. Before pursuing his Ph.D., he studied Economics at the University of Mannheim and the Stockholm University.
